Filthy
Gorgeous, the Trannyshack Story
a film by Sean Mullens
85 min
Trannyshack, a regular Tuesday night at the Stud
in SOMA, San Francisco, is the naughty bastard child of the
inimitable Heklina. Ten years ago she set up the club to dish out
some old style, drag lip-synching with a little caustic attitude.
Today, the night has built into a religion for its regular boho
followers. It's a hothouse of drag creativity that has pushed the
form in every possible direction - from metal drag to high
performance masochistic art. Filthy Gorgeous the movie is an
exuberant and hilarious celebration of the club's life and times,
with cameo appearances from Trannyshackers past and present
including Justin Bond from Kiki and Herb and Ana Matronic from the
Scissor Sisters. |

has been happening to his people, the Palestinians. He is full of
questions about his identity and nationality, his past and the fate
of his people. Samekh decides to get up and act. He records Rap and
Hip-Hop songs, as a way of getting his message out. His music takes
him to the clubs, the neighborhoods, to Tel Aviv, Haifa and London.
