Giovanni
Cozzi has
been instrumental in the development of digital projection technologies markets.
In 1988, Mr. Cozzi founded Vidikron of America, a leading manufacturer
and marketer of high-end video projection systems.
He served as CEO of Vidikron through 1999, and during his tenure the
company was consistently profitable and expanded its distribution to 42
countries.
As
a consumer electronics industry trend-setter, he has been often quoted or
featured in articles on home theater in several publications such as the Wall
Street Journal, New York Newsday, The Daily News, Business Week, Time as well as
several international publications. Cozzi has appeared on TV programs about
digital imaging technology in the U.S., Singapore, and Argentina.
Cozzi
was directly responsible for the development of Vidikron’s acclaimed product
line. Vidikron products received numerous awards for excellence in design and
engineering, including several Video Grand Prix awards, several Academy Golden
Note prizes, and several recognitions as Best Product of the Year by respected
publications such as Audio Video International, The Guide to Home Theater, and
the Robb Report.
In
1995, Cozzi entered into an agreement with film director Martin Scorsese for the
endorsement of Vidikron products on a worldwide basis.
Prior
to coming to the U.S., Cozzi co-founded Italy’s first commercial radio
station, Radio Milano International in 1975. Mr. Cozzi came to New York in 1978,
where he opened the first retail store specializing in video projection
systems.New York Video. The store grew to become the largest single outlet of
projection systems in the United States.
In
1999 Cozzi formed SynerGint, an international market development firm. whose
principal clients include the InFocus Corporation, a major manufacturer of
projection systems, and Yamashita Engineering and Manufacturing, a Japanese HDTV
electronics manufacturer.
Since
early 2000 Cozzi has been involved in the development of a digital cinema
network, EmergingCinemas, which he co-founded in partnership with HDTV pioneer
Barry Rebo.
