A season of three unmissable productions from the UK’s most groundbreaking opera house in cinemas nationwide Autumn 2008. Glyndebourne is a 700-year old country house and opera house near Lewes in East Sussex, England. Since 1934 it has been the venue of the annual Glyndebourne Festival, which has become one of the most prestigious opera festivals in the world, with constant sold out performances. It is held throughout the entire summer and it attracts audiences from all over Europe. Many Glyndebourne attendees come down from London, and Glyndebourne is regarded as part of the London/English summer season.
