IVAN MARTIN (LORENZO)
Currently, Ivan can be seen on NBC's "Ed" as the
recurring character Ivan Fonseco, the shady attorney who suddenly appears
in Stuckeyville with the sole purpose of making Ed's life a living hell.
He also is currently working on the upcoming Xan Cassavetes film, "Thy
Sky is Green." Ivan had three films appear at Sundance this year: "Prey
for Rock and Roll," with Joan Jett, Gina Gershon, Drea de Matteo and Lori
Petty and directed by Alex Steyermark; "People I Know," directed by Dan
Algrant, and "Rhythm of the Saints," directed by Cyn Rossi and Sarah
Rogacki. Ivan can be seen with a handful of other Sundance actors in this
April's issue of Details, in a feature recognizing the 2003 festival's
most notable performances.
He has been seen of late in Woody Allen's "Hollywood
Ending," starring Tea Leoni and Treat Williams, and "People I Know,"
starring Al Pacino and scripted by renowned playwright Jon Robin Baitz.
Ivan has appeared in "Georgetown," a pilot for CBS starring Helen Mirren.
Starring roles recently completed are in "Funny Valentine," with Anthony
Michael Hall, "The Lucky Ones," with Jeff DeMunn, Matthew Harrison's
modernist adaptation of Dante's "Divine Comedy" title "The End of
Eternity," and "Torn," a dark melodrama set in Spanish Harlem.
Born in Philadelphia and trained in New York City at the
William Esper Studio and by Maggie Flannigan and Terry Knickerbocker, Ivan
first gained recognition on stage working at many of the city's most
exciting Off-Broadway houses (Soho Rep., La Mama etc., Cherry Lane
Theater, Naked Angels, Rattlestick, Synchronicity Space) and was singled
out as one of the outstanding performers of the 1999 season in "Backstage"
Highlights alongside Dana Ivey, Nathan Lane and Martin Short, for his
portrayal of Dylan in Travis Baker's "The Weatherbox."
DENNIS PRESSEY (DARBY)
Dennis brings humanity, vulnerability, subtlety and a
sense of great truth to whatever role he plays. Born and bred in Brooklyn,
NY, he is a graduate of the New York High School of Performing Arts Drama
Department. Other training includes two years of Meisner Technique with
Martin Barter of the Neighborhood Playhouse and a two-year internship on
Broadway with the National Actor's Theatre (Tony Randall, Executive
Producer).
Dennis has been featured in several regional and
national commercials for companies like Wendy's Coors, Dell, Vibe Magazine
and Arista Records. His gift for dialects has won him voiceover work for
Coors, AT&T, Wendy's, Burger King and Select Comfort, and his voice can be
heard on HBO's Lumumba. A versatile actor, Dennis appeared in the one-act
festival at New York's Ensemble Studio Theatre, where he transformed from
a homeless heroin addict into a conservative yuppie during the ten-minute
intermission.
His recent film and television appearances include an
independent feature film with Blair Underwood and Ted Danson, the role as
street thug James in the film short "The Wallet," the blond-haired,
intellectual, rebellious cameraman Darby in the feature "The Lucky Ones,"
a Frauds detective on the season finale of "Law & Order" and a MC in a
comedy club in Paramount Pictures' "Down to Earth." Dennis has also guest
starred on "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" and “Law and Order: Special
Victims Unit.”
JEFFREY DeMUNN (SIMON)
Mr. DeMunn is a native of Buffalo, New York, and
graduate of Union College with a BA in English. He moved to England during
the early 1970s to receive his classical stage training at the Bristol Old
Vic Theater School.
Upon completion of his studies there, he returned to the
States to star in King Lear for the National Shakespeare Company in New
York. He then appeared in numerous off-Broadway productions including “A
Prayer for My Daughter,” for which he received his first Drama Desk Award
nomination; “Modigliani,” “Total Abandon,” “A Midsummer Night's Dream,”
“The Country Girl,” and “The Hands of Its Enemy.” On Broadway, DeMunn
appeared in “The Comedians,” “Bent,” “K-2,” (for which he received a Tony
ard for
Best Actor) “Sleight of Hand,” and “Spoils of War.”
He has appeared in more than 60 feature and television
films over the past 25 years. Highlights include: "The Shawshank
Redemption", “Phenomenon,” “The Majestic,” “The Green Mile,” “The X-Files
Movie,” and "The Blob." Television highlights include: "Hill Street
Blues", "Kojak", and "Law & Order".
TOBY POSER (REBECCA)
Besides THE LUCKY ONES, Toby has appeared in several
films including “Autumn in New York” and “The Incredibly True Adventure of
Two Girls in Love.” She has also appeared in various television series
including “Guiding Light,” “Law & Order,” and “Sex and the City.”
RONALD GUTTMAN (FATHER)
Ronald’s recent film credits include: “The Tollbooth,”
“The Guru,” “The Believer,” and “The Girl.” He has also appeared in
“Green Card” and “The Hunt for Red October” amongst many other films.
KAREN FERRARI (JULIA)
Karen Ferrari is a Ford model and actress who has done
campaigns for major fashion labels including Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, and
Tommy Hilfiger. Her acting credits include two independent feature films
(“The Lucky Ones” and “Skirting Venice”) and the Showtime special “Going
to California.” Karen has also been in a number of theatre productions
including “Bugsy Malone,” “Billy Liar,” “The Seagul,” and “Romeo and
Juliet.” She trained in New York with Harold Guskin and Sam Schwat
(Accent).
DALLAS ROBERTS (EDISON)
Dallas Roberts (The Son in “Nocturne”)
recently appeared as Gil in Lee Blessing's “Thief River” and as Johnny
Socko in Ron Fitzgerald's “Parts Unknown” at the O'Neill Playwright's
Festival, Kynaston in Jeffrey Hatcher's “Kynaston” (world premiere) at
Contemporary American Theater Festival, Jack in Maria Irene Fornes's
“Enter the Night” (New York premiere) at
Signature Theatre,
and Astrakhan in Arthur Kopit's “Y2K” (world premiere) at the Humana
Festival at the
Actors Theatre of
Louisville. Other theatre production credits include: “Burn
This” and “True Love,” both at the Signature Theatre in New York. As far
as film and television are concerned (besides “The Lucky Ones”), Dallas
has appeared in the Sundance short “The Hat,” and the shows “Law & Order”
and “New York Undercover.” Dallas is a graduate of
The Juilliard
School.
