THE KEN THEATRE
The old Ken Theatre
in downtown McCrory, Arkansas was,
in its former life, a movie house
much like those found in every small
town. After years of providing
entertainment to those in its
community, The Ken fell victim to
the advent of multi-screen cinemas
built in larger neighboring towns.
Years of abandonment left the once
beautiful Ken in substantial
disrepair.
But new life has
been brought to the Ken! With the
efforts of McCrory residents Doyle
and Margaret Ann Fowler as owners
and Babbie Lovett as program
director, The Ken is experiencing a
rebirth. In this new venture The Ken
Theatre has been magnificently
restored with state of the art
sound, lighting and projection and
beautifully finished oak
appointments. Once again the Ken is
poised to present movies for
entertainment, but in this new life
as a regional performing arts
center, it is home to so much MORE!
As a regional
performing arts center, the Ken
Theatre provides children and adults
the opportunity to participate in
classes offered in production,
technical support, stage, dance,
chorus, and more. The Ken is also
unique in that it offers people live
theatrical and musical entertainment
in a small town setting.
The Ken Theatre
accommodates approximately 230
people with combined floor and
balcony seating. There is not a bad
seat in the house! Come join this
exciting new endeavor and take your
place in one of the grand red
theatre seats in this handsome new
regional performing arts center.
