The
mission of the Tucson Cinema
Foundation is to celebrate film as
an art form and to facilitate a
community discourse to further the
appreciation, knowledge, and
understanding of film and its many
facets.
In November 2002, the nonprofit
Tucson Cinema Foundation purchased
The Loft Cinema and transformed it
into an exciting cultural center for
a diverse cross-section of Southern
Arizona audiences.
Since then, The Loft has brought in
more hundreds of films from an
ever-expanding number of countries.
Public reaction to
the Foundation’s programming and
special projects has been
overwhelming. The Loft has been
named Best of Tucson in 2003 and
2004. Visiting filmmakers have been
universally impressed and grateful
for our commitment to providing a
venue for great art films, both big
and small.
