Well, it all depends on what you’re looking for in a super automatic espresso machine. You will be paying for the added convenience of dedicated spouts in the Jura Impressa C9.
But, if convenience factors heavily into your decision making, then yes, the C9 is definitely worth your money. Like all Jura machines, the Impressa C9 is built with quality. And, it’s fully equipped to maintain optimal functionality for years and years.

“Cleanliness is next to godliness,” they always say. Well, if that’s the case then the Jura Impressa C9 is a heavenly angel. Besides great coffee, this super automatic espresso machine is specifically engineered to keep itself clean and highly efficient brew after brew.
Features
The Jura Impressa C9 won’t let you get away with much. It will alert you for just about every action that needs to be taken. If the drip tray needs to be emptied, the C9 will let you know. Time to change the water filter? The C9 will pester you until it’s done.
If you blew off using a water filter all together, then the C9 will make you descale. If you choose to neglect the descaling, the C9 will go on strike until you do it. If the water needs to be refilled, the C9 will let you know.
Besides alerting you for your part, the C9 also rinses itself out consistently upon start up and after every brew cycle. The whole point to all of this rinsing and cleaning is to maintain the pristineness of the C9 so that it can consistently provide the best espresso drinks as long as you want it to.
Besides its ritualistic cleanliness, the Jura Impressa C9 features a unique two dedicated dispenser system.Many super automatic machines have separate spouts to dispense espresso and steam milk. This requires the user to stand with the machine and move the cup between the two dispensers, or use two cups.
With the Impressa C9, you can now choose a milk based espresso drink with the touch of a button, and actually walk away. It will do everything for you. Or if you just want espresso, then go the traditional route and place your cup under the usual brew head in the center.
Programming is a bit basic with the Impressa C9. You’re able to customize one drink, which becomes the default drink for the machine. However, you can play around with the milk foam texture on the fly.
And, you can use a nifty dial to change other settings like coffee strength and temperature on the fly as well. But next time you go to make a drink, the machine will revert back to the program you’ve set previously.

The Jura J6 is a slightly newer Jura machine that delivers very similar features as the Impressa C9. The display is different, but the function is much the same. They are similarly priced too. So, either machine is a good bet.

Our Opinion
Jura IMPRESSA C9
We like what Jura is doing with the Impressa C9, by creating a one touch system while attempting to keep the price reasonable.
And, we really like the looks of its more modern relative the Jura J6, which is similarly priced.
However, we’re not sure the added convenience of the dedicated spouts is worth the price given that the programmability on the C9 is limited.
It might be worth just biting the bullet and paying a bit more for a truly one touch machine that also has more programmability built in.
Other Alternatives
If you aren’t interested in paying more for dedicated spouts but you want a good quality espresso machine with a milk function, take a look at the Jura Impressa A9. It’s a lot smaller; but, it has one spout that does both espresso and milk. So, if you can put up with refilling the tank more often, you can still get everything you want, and at a lower price than the C9.
If you’re looking for a larger capacity machine with the same (or higher) customizability check out the Saeco Royal One Touch super automatic espresso machine. It’s got a huge 74 ounce water tank and a 12 ounce bean hopper. Adjustments are easily made, and you can program more than one drink.
